FAQ

From where do you derive your inspiration?

I find inspiration all around me and I have a list of other authors whom I greatly admire whose works encourage me to continue moving forward with my own ideas.

I’d like to become a writer, how do I get started?

Figure out the genre you’d like to pursue, then constantly write things down that cross your mind. Surround yourself with knowledgeable people who can help you organize your thoughts into a cohesive order, and research publishing houses that deal with your genre.  You could even reach out to an author who has been doing it for years for guidance.

What made you decide to start writing romance novels?

It is my favorite genre, so I didn’t have to leap too far to start writing my own stories.

How do you come up with stories you write?

Again, I find inspiration all around me whether it is something I personally experience or many times ideas come from friends and family..

How do you deal with writer’s block?

By reading an entire book by someone else which has nothing to do with what I’m working on..

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Being able to put all my thoughts on paper. I am an avid dreamer and I keep a pad and pen by my bed to write down ideas.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Keep trying! I started writing years ago and when I look at my first manuscript, I cringe. The plot and characters are really good, it’s the writing which is bad. With all I’ve learned from my editors, I think one day, I will rewrite it.

How did you get inspired to write?

I just do. I am an avid reader and sometimes I’ll say to myself. You know? I think the plot should go this way and then I’m writing another manuscript

“Lois knows how to capture a character who pulls me in every time.”
